Our aim is to produce good, honest, pub food which is freshly prepared on the premises. Our policy at The Royal Oak is to source the best seasonal produce and support our local suppliers. We have chosen our suppliers for their established and trusted reputations, knowledge and quality of product and with consideration to the environment - they are all located within a 20 mile radius of The Royal Oak.
Whether it's a light bite, a Sunday roast or one of our 'Oak Classics' from our extensive menu, we will ensure you leave us more than satisfied. We aim to cater for all tastes and if you have any dietary requirements, want something not on the menu or if you just fancy a dish with different vegetables, salad or sauce we will do it, providing we can. Children of all ages are welcome and our 'Little Acorns' menu offers smaller portions to tempt little appetites.
Alongside the 'Oak Classics' menu we are now offering a seasonal menu which is showcasing our Head Chef's passion for fresh, seasonal dishes perfect for the seasons - hearty, warming dishes for the cold Peak District winter or fresh, vibrant, lighter options through the Spring and Summer months.
On Sunday lunchtimes, our 'Sunday Menu' offers a selection of roast meats from Critchlows of Bakewell alongside selected favourites from our Oak Classics menu.

We can cater for large groups with our set menu, specially designed to offer the most popular dishes off our main menu. We serve a delicious breakfast menu from 8.30am Saturday and Sunday. (10am weekdays)
